Speakers Of Ghana’s Parliament Since Independence

Ghana gained her Independence in the year 1957. Since that year, a number of speakers of parliament have emerged .

Ghana since Independence has 13 speakers of parliament.

The first speaker of parliament since Independence was Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist from 6th March 1957 – 14 Nov. 1957.

Second speaker of parliament was RT Hon. Augustus Akiwumi 1958-1960

Third speaker of parliament was RT Hon. Joseph Asiedu 1960-1965

Fourth speaker of parliament was RT Hon. Kofi Asante Ofori-Atta 1965-1966

Fifth speaker of parliament was RT Hon. Nii Amaa Ollenu 1969-1972
